Our school district is one of the best in the state with recognitions for our elementary school and the Rock Creek Junior/Senior High School.  The High School was recognized as a Blue Ribbon School and the elementary school has been recognized as being an excellent school for teaching above the standards set by the State of Kansas Education Department.

City Council:

  The Westmoreland City Council will meet on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Community Center, 201 Main Street.  This meeting is open to the public.

  An agenda may be obtained at the City Hall office during regular business hours or                        after  October 4, 2019 for the agenda.


 Westmoreland Farmer's Market  

                Fridays, June - August    4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

                      Located on the front porch of the Oregon Trail Market at 314 Main Street.

     Each Friday, find a selection of locally produced and grown vegetables, all natural beef and pork, jams & jellies, baked goods, artwork and more!!!  Several local groups will be serving meals as fund-raisers!  Come and join the fun!

  Interested in serving on a city committee?

Cemetery committee meets the last Monday of every month (when needed) at 7:00 p.m.

Planning & Zoning board meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month (when needed) at 7:00 p.m.

Library committee meets the first Monday of every week at 7:00 p.m.

All committee meetings are held at the Westmoreland Community Center, 201 Main Street, unless otherwise notified.

The city is offering a free cleanup day for residents to dispose of un-wanted large items.  NO household trash will be accepted.  Items need to be placed "curb-side", volunteers Will Not  go on private property or enter homes, sheds or garages to retrieve items.  Volunteers will be picking items up 8:00 AM-12:00 PM.  Residents may bring items on their own to the city shop until 5:00 PM.  Three large containers will be provided.

Lumber (please remove nails, staples, screws)
