The City of Westmoreland is accepting applications for a pool manager, assistant manager & lifeguards, for the upcoming 2026 season.

The City of Westmoreland is requesting bids from qualified janitorial service providers to deliver janitorial services across various municipal buildings. The contractor will be responsible for providing comprehensive janitorial services including but not limited to: vacuuming carpets, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning restrooms (including toilets and urinals), emptying trash receptacles, dusting furniture and fixtures, cleaning windows and glass surfaces, maintaining cleanliness in kitchens, and performing annual services such as floor refinishing. Bids will only be accepted on the approved bid form available upon request. All bids must be sealed bids marked “JANITORIAL SERVICES” and will be due by 4:00 p.m. March 12, 2026, and delivered to Westmoreland City Hall, 202 Main, Westmoreland, KS 66549. Bids will be opened March 12, 2026, approximately 6:30 p.m. at the Westmoreland City Council meeting. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, received as a result of this solicitation and to waive minor irregularities. The City of Westmoreland, Kansas is the county seat for Pottawatomie County.
Established in 1853, Westmoreland was once a stop for travelers on the Oregon Trail. South of town on Highway 99 is a roadside park dedicated to those travelers complete with informational signage and a covered wagon and oxen sculptured by Ernest White, local resident.
Westmoreland is home to one of the top elementary schools in the State of Kansas as well as in the school district which can lay claim to having a Blue Ribbon Junior/Senior High School by the U.S. Department of Education. The Blue Ribbon Award is considered the highest honor an American school can achieve.
The City of Westmoreland owns and maintains a 16 pad RV Park along Highway 99. Campers will find 12 sites with full hookups, a playground for children, 2 horse shoe pits, the Frank Memorial Shelter and a bathhouse. (operational after the first frost in the spring until the first freezing temperature in the winter). Adjacent to the RV Park is a 9 hole disc golf course, dog park, and Dechairo Shelter. Both shelters can be reserved by turning in the application located on the forms tab.

ATTENTION:
If you are experiencing discolored water, the city is aware of the issue. Due to RWD 4 repairing a water leak, sediment normally coating the water mains were disturbed allowing it to mix with the water causing a brown color. We ask that you flush toilets and/or run water faucets until the water is clear.
